Barcelona, 1983
From Bacardit's early works we must point out a series of studies based on the faces of Michelangelo's fresco paintings at the Sixtine Chapel.
In these first years she adopts an abstract style in which stands out the strenth of the stroke and the vividness of the color. For some time abstraction will be her main way, though the motive is always present in her work, which, throughout the years, will be emerging as the central subject leading her to put aside the abstraction.
Those studies were made during a penury time on low-quality supports: cartons, cardboards and papers found in warehouses and even in the streets.
Many of this works have been lost. The work that appears in this page belongs to a particular collection.
